The Hamilton Performing Arts Centre is central to the performing arts community of the region. While servicing the breadth of performing arts, the venue is well suited to presenting events and there is an active community of music makers, performing and attending music. The venue has been central in activating community participation. It has been exploring new initiatives in creating arts and community events inside and outside the venue as part of transforming the presentation program. Alongside the performance and presentation program, the venue has a meetings and conferences stream of activity. The Cinema is also incorporated into this role and function as it is co-located with the Performing Arts Centre.
