Engaging new and diverse audiences continues to be a major challenge for some parts of the Australian arts sector.
To address this challenge, Deakin University and Creative Australia conducted a 3-year research study, called Leading Change: Audience Diversification in the Arts, to investigate the organisational practices needed to diversify arts audiences. This research involved collaboration with funded arts organisations, creative practitioners, peak bodies and government. It’s also received funding from the Ian Potter Foundation.
In this webinar, researchers Hilary Glow, Anne Deakin and Mark Taylor will share findings from the research, along with a model of audience-centric practice that has been developed to assist arts organisations to expand the social profile of their audiences.
The event will also include a panel discussion between practitioners involved in the research, talking through the practical implications and applications of the project, and sharing highlights and best practice examples.
The discussion will be hosted by the Chair of the project’s Industry Advisory Group, Wesley Enoch AM.
