In this newly created position, you will support First Nations communities to lead, drive and develop community led arts-based programs and initiatives on behalf of the City of Greater Bendigo.
You will establish and administer a First Nations Arts Group to guide development of an annual City of Greater Bendigo First Nations Arts program, you will work towards achieving relevant actions of the City’s Reconciliation Action Plan, Greater Creative Bendigo Strategy and Greater Bendigo Community Plan as well as seek grants and funding opportunities.
You will also explore and work collaboratively to set up a First Nations Gallery and activate cultural venues managed by the City through an annual arts and exhibition program and actively maintain and develop local and regional partnerships with relevant industry bodies.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and understanding of Koori, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditional and contemporary arts and culture, extensive experience in the development and management of community arts programs and initiatives and an understanding of community cultural development frameworks.
