The Arts, Events and Libraries Department at the City of Kingston is focused on the delivery of industry leading contemporary programs, activities and events. The role
We are seeking a Coordinator Arts Programming to join the Kingston Arts & Culture team. Reporting to the Head of Programming, your role is to:
- Coordinate the activation and utilisation of Kingston Arts’ venues and activity centres through programming and venue hire activities
- Enhance, develop, and promote the City of Kingston to be a creative place where dynamic, diverse, vibrant arts and cultural activities thrive and improve liveability for the community
- Manage stakeholder relationships and enhance audience engagement to increase activity, revenue, attendance, awareness and reach
About you
Experience in/with:
- The development and delivery of dynamic arts programming activities
- The successful activation and utilisation of venue spaces for hire
- An understanding of and experience with the development, sourcing and delivery of complex arts projects and events
- High-level project management experience with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail and within set timelines and budgets.
Selection will be based on the following key selection criteria. Reference will also be made to other skills, knowledge and attributes contained in the Position Description:
- A tertiary qualification in Arts, Arts Management, Event or Production Management (or related discipline) relevant experience or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience in Arts, Arts Management, Arts Programming or Event Management environment.
- Experience in the successful activation and utilisation of venue spaces through venue hire, usage, policy and relationship management.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, sourcing and delivery of dynamic and innovative arts programming activities across multiple genres.
- Strong communication, customer service and relationship skills within the arts and events industry – including with hirers, ticketing, marketing, production, operations, promoters, producers, managers, artists and creators.
- Demonstrated experience with and understanding of the delivery of complex arts projects and events from concept to completion, ensuring the best possible outcomes for the venue, presenter, artist and patron.
- Demonstrated budget and forecasting experience with the ability to create and maintain projects within budget.
- Demonstrated experience with the development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
