Position: Creative Destination Events lead
Contract: This is a temporary full-time role ending on 30 June 2024.
Salary: This role is a Band 7 currently remunerated between $104,144 to $116,110 per annum plus superannuation.

About the role
Council’s Arts & Culture Department is looking for an innovative individual for a Creative Destination Events Lead role. Through proactive leadership, advocacy, specialist advice and extensive industry networks, this role will position Frankston City as a contemporary arts and culture destination for major and regional events that attract new audiences and drive year-round visitation.
As the successful candidate, you will develop and manage strategic partnerships to attract high-profile event organisers, production houses and creatives that enable them to hold their events in Frankston City, in alignment with Council’s Destination Events Strategy.
About you
You will have:
- Extensive experience and knowledge of positioning destinations with Events as the key driver;
- Knowledge of the national arts and cultural sector, working across genres, with the skills, energy and ambition to achieve substantial artistic, visitation and community outcomes;
- Extensive networks within the Arts and/or Creative Events industry at a Local, State and National level;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the tourism sector and how to activate and elevate a City to drive visitation; and
- Demonstrated ability to procure quality events, artistic product and services including the management and negotiation of contracts and projects.
