David Lloyd Professional Learning Bursary

David Lloyd Professional Learning Bursary

Each year VAPAC supports a number of members to attend national events for the purposes of professional development, learning, and networking. These bursaries provide industry professionals with the opportunity to attend events that would otherwise be inaccessible due to financial barriers. In 2022, following the passing of our respected colleague David Lloyd, VAPAC is proud to have renamed this support as the David Lloyd Professional Learning Bursary.

Throughout David’s career he served the sector with distinction, most recently in the role of Manager at Bendigo Venues and Events where he led the development and opening of the Ulumbarra Theatre, winning the Drover Award for Performing Arts Centre of the Year. Among many other significant achievements, he also welcomed Arena Theatre Company into residence in 2018, strengthened his organisation’s relationship with the Dja Dja Wurrung community, and helped shape a diverse performing arts program that steadily grew theatre audiences and contributed to Greater Bendigo’s reputation as a leading arts centre in regional Victoria.

David was not only a leader in his community, but also in our industry, having previously served as President of both PAC Australia & VAPAC, and forging strong connections with Creative Victoria and Regional Arts Victoria.

VAPAC is proud to be naming our professional development travel bursaries in David’s name, to be awarded to four members each year to further their learning and expand their networks.

2024 Funding Opportunity

In 2024, VAPAC is providing the opportunity for members to attend The International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) Conference, held in Perth, or the Ticketing Australia Conference, held in New South Wales.
