Arts Centre Melbourne (ACM) presents world-class performing arts and is the Melbourne home of Australia’s leading arts companies. In 2014 it engaged with three million visitors across three sites and five stages, and generated revenue of $73 million. A new role has been created following a reshaping of the leadership structure, presenting a unique opportunity for arts leadership in Australia.
• The Executive, Performing Arts will be one of three leaders reporting to the CEO. The appointee will lead a large team spanning programming, presenter services learning and participation, production, ACM’s nationally significant collections and the Asian Performing Arts Program. They will embrace a strategic approach to venue occupancy, ensuring resident companies and hirers are fully engaged, joint projects are explored and initiated, and ACM presentations are delivered to world class standards.
• Likely possessing general management experience in major arts/ cultural organisations or performing arts venues, and with relevant tertiary qualifications, you are adept at managing complex stakeholders and diverse, creative teams. This role calls for strong judgment, negotiation, commercial and project management skills, combined with deep insight into the role of the arts in society.
