Meet our Industry Development Manager!
VAPAC is delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Kelly as our new Industry Development Manager, starting in early 2025.
Kate is an experienced theatre practitioner, having dedicated her career to excellence in theatre and performance both working in and designing spaces and systems that can facilitate the ever-changing technical demands of modern production.
For the past 10 years Kate has been part of the Entertech team, joining Marshall Day Entertech in 2014, before becoming a director at Studio Entertech in 2021. During her time, she was lead designer for theatre and AV projects from large educational performing arts centres to community event spaces and redevelopment of heritage venues. Complimenting her work as a theatre consultant, Kate has been a freelance lighting designer, programmer and technician for a large variety of productions across Victoria.
In her new role, Kate will work closely with VAPAC members to strengthen the performing arts sector, focusing on our Industry Development Initiative to address the critical shortage of technical staff in venues. She will also enhance our engagement with secondary and tertiary education sectors and support VAPAC’s advocacy efforts with government stakeholders.
On behalf of the executive committee, VAPAC Chair, Tammy Ryan stated that she is thrilled to welcome Kate to the team and looks forward to her contributions in working closely with our members and advancing the performing arts across Victoria, Tasmania, and beyond.
