About the role

Yarra Ranges Council is seeking dedicated and experienced Venue Activation Officers to join our dynamic Creative & Connected Communities Department. As a Venue Activation Officer, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional services aligned with Council’s Creative Communities Strategy and Customer Experience Strategy.
You will be managing a diverse range of responsibilities, from swiftly handling booking requests, generating accurate quotes, managing invoicing, to fostering valuable customer relationships. Your meticulous coordination skills will be put to the test in the preparation of detailed event run sheets and briefs.
While your role doesn’t involve direct on-site event delivery, it’s crucial that you collaborate effectively with the Front of House and Operations & Technical Service teams. You will ensure timely event preparation, including production meetings, roster requirements, detailed run sheets and establishing venue layouts. Your role also extends to post-event evaluation to enhance our future event preparation and delivery.
Your positive adaptability, effective time management, ability to manage distractions and overcome obstacles when under pressure will be essential attributes.

What you’ll bring to our team
- Prior experience in performing arts venues, community cultural venues, corporate events, or similar environments with a focus on event services.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in MS OFFICE 365, including TEAMS, and Booking Management Systems
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to event management.
