The Eva & Marc Besen Centre
About the Venue
The Eva & Marc Besen Centre is a purpose-built Centre, designed by Kerstin Thompson Architects with landscaping by OCULUS.
This state-of-the-art building will store 300 works from the Museum’s permanent collection of Australian painting and sculpture, viewable through a secure glass wall. This visible storage will provide a teaching and learning resource.
The venue has a capacity of 200 and will host our future festivals with the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Our programmed series will be inspired by both the exhibitions and the collection, encouraging enthusiasm, curiosity and creativity. When the EMBC reaches full programming capacity over the coming years, it is estimated that we will present up to 160 programs per annum.
