Salary:$31.88+ per hour (plus 25 per cent casual loading)

Vacancies exist within the Drum Theatre Front of House team for casual Venue Support Officers. Staff members will be trained in various roles including Usher, Function / Box Office attendant and Café/Bar in order to be able to fill roles as required and rostered. This is a customer service role reporting directly to the Front House Supervisor during events and working closely with the Front of House team, Customer Service Leader, Box Office Supervisor and Back of House team to ensure performances and events start on time and run smoothly. Hospitality training may be offered depending on experience level.
The role includes:
- Theatre event ‘Usher’ shifts during business hours, with capacity after hours and weekends.
- Food and Beverage Service for functions and events (Drum Café/Bar and function service) including responsible service of alcohol.
- Retail duties include processing financial transaction processes relating to the Bar and Merchandise sales.
- Box office duties if required (training provided).
- Provide exceptional customer service to our patrons at all times.
- Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth running of the Front of House department.
- Engage with Patrons, Clients and the public, actively promoting City of Greater Dandenong and Drum Theatre performances and events.
Successful applicants will have the ability to work within a close and sometimes fast-paced team environment, liaising with the public and clients in a customer-focused manner with high levels of attention to detail. In addition to these skills, the applicant will ideally have experience in hospitality and the arts or have a keen interest in learning. Hospitality experience and accreditation (eg RSA) would be an advantage. Successful applicants will be available for shifts during peak times, including during business hours.

In accordance with government or Council requirements, the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate evidence of an approved COVID-19 vaccination, including booster injections or an authorised medical exemption.
